Protea Banks
Situated just 8km off Shelly Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, Protea Banks is an exceptional reef system with remarkable topography. The presence of a wide variety of game fish attracts an array of top predators rarely seen in other parts of the world!
At Protea Banks you can dive with up to 5 species of sharks, including the biggest sharks in the oceans such as Tiger sharks, Hammerheads, Bull sharks, Ragged-tooth sharks, and Blacktips. This is a unique opportunity to witness these incredible creatures in their natural habitat
Aliwal Shoal
Aliwal Shoal was rated by Jacques Cousteau as one of the top 10 dive spots in the world due to its high level of diversity. Not only does the marine life diversity make Aliwal special, but its topography, formed by many gullies, pinnacles and caves. This makes it a really fun dive. Two shipwrecks are also an attraction. Raggies or ragged tooth sharks (also known as grey nurse sharks) are regularly spotted between August and November. It’s not only the sharks that make Aliwal Shoal a must-do dive, but you will also see mantas, moray eels, huge stingrays, sweetlips, potato groupers and turtles!
Oribi Gorge
Carved out by the Umzimkulu river, this 24km long Gorge offers incredible views of its sandstone cliffs.
